Creating Personal Success Statements
How do you know when you are a success?
Do you believe your success is measured by wealth, social status, the size of your house or the model of your car?
Is your success measured by early retirement or because the kids are grown and out of the house?
Most of these measures are conditional. And what if the conditions change? What happens if you lose your job or the kids move back home after being away? Does that mean you are a failure?
Personal success statements are not about what you have, but about who you are. You want to create statements that guide your behavior, your reactions and the way you live your life.
Define what success means to you. Create 1-3 statements that let you know on a daily basis how successful you are being.
The statements need to be within your control to accomplish, they need to be measurable, they need to be personal to you, and they need to be absolute truths, not something that is conditional.
Complete this statement: “I know I am being successful by how much….”
I know I am being successful by how much I am enjoying my creativity.
I know I am being successful by how much I am being nourished by my relationship with God (Source, Higher Power, Spirit, Nature etc).
I know I am being successful by how nice a person I’m being at any given moment.
I know I am being successful when I glow from the love I give and receive.
I know I am being successful when I am smiling from the inside out. (My Favorite!)
I know I am being successful by how much of my day is spent at ease.
I know I am being successful by how tranquil I feel throughout the day.
I know I am being successful by how excited I am to get up in the morning.
I know I am being successful by how well I treat my body.
Create success from the inside-out. Share your statements in the comment section.
