“Both abundance and lack exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend… when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that’s present – love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature and personal pursuits that bring us pleasure – the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience Heaven on Earth.” Sarah Ban Breathnach, Simple Abundance
Taking time everyday to be grateful and appreciate the many blessings you already have is essential for your inner peace, happiness and success. Too many people have a list of things they believe they need to do or have before they can be happy.
How many times have you said or thought, “I’ll be happy when…”?
Appreciating what you have now keeps you grounded and living in the present moment. Practicing appreciation allows you to feel like where you are right now is a wonderful place to be. You want to be able to say “I love where I am on the way to some place better” every day of your life.
• Take time throughout the day to “stop and smell the roses”.
• Notice what is going right in your life, instead of what is wrong.
• Keep a gratitude journal and add to it daily.
• Accept compliments and acts of appreciation from other people with sincere gratitude. Practice just saying “Thank You” without feeling uncomfortable and without any other dialog.
“The blessings for which we hunger are not to be found in other places or people. These gifts can only be given to you by yourself.” John O’Donohue
Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary
Because it means you’ve made a difference.
It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.
GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.
This might be the most important Key to Success! Be sure to share how gratitude and appreciation have impacted and benefited your life.
