Manifesting Success Story
by Kathy Atkinson
I want to share a personal success story with you for a couple of reasons. First, because it is fun to share successes, and second because it is inspiring and motivating to hear success stories. (I hope you make a point of sharing your successes with others rather than always complaining about what isn’t working. If not, start today and commit to sharing all the good things going on in your life.)
This story has some seemingly negative aspects that actually took me on a path of fun and ease…
At the beginning of June, my computer ran its monthly diagnostics test and gave me a warning that meant the hard drive was dying. This is never good news and I had already replaced a hard drive in this computer a year and a half ago, so I was not happy.
Being unhappy with the situation wasn’t going to change anything, so I needed to take action and get the computer to someone who would know what to do and could fix it faster than I could figure it out. Anyway, from my perspective, the computer seemed to be working, so I wasn’t even sure if the message was correct.
I call the local repair shop and then took the computer in about noon on a Friday. This meant that I was basically out of commission as far as getting any significant work done. I do have a back up computer, but it doesn’t have all my files and I mostly use it for overflow information and getting connected to the internet.
Rather than get upset, I decided to come up with a new plan for the day and probably for the weekend. I didn’t really expect that the computer would be fixed before Monday. My husband and I had already set up a golf outing with another couple that Friday, but the weather was cold and rainy so we cancelled that and now had a free afternoon and evening.
What to do? What to do?
It just so happened that a casino opened near us that week and I was curious to see what it looked like, and now I had a good reason to make a withdrawal from them. (The new hard drive was going to cost $200. I had the money for the new hard drive, but I figured that I would give the Universe a chance to pay for it. Plus it would be more fun that way!)
So off to the casino we went. You may not be a gambler, so this may not be a great story for you, but I treat the casino experience as a form of entertainment, not a way to get rich. It is a fun experience for me.
After getting to the casino and taking a trip around the room and checking things out, my husband and I made a plan to meet up in about 45 minutes if we got separated.
I was off to play the slot machines. After trying out a few machines, I found one that was paying off pretty regularly so I was able to stay at the machine for about 20 minutes and then hit a $600 win. Immediately, I hit the cashout button and was off to cash in my winnings. The guy that was sitting next to me was shocked and surprised to see me just cash in and walk away.
I didn’t need to stay and “gamble” it away. I was happy. I accomplished my desire to pay for the hard drive and receive the money. And, I was ready for dinner.
So, I found my husband; we had a nice dinner “on them” and were on our way home after a few hours of fun and entertainment.
If my hard drive hadn’t died and the weather hadn’t been so nasty, I would have missed out on a really good time. So even if things seem bad or wrong, or you wish they wouldn’t happen, there is always fun that can be manifested.
By the way, I didn’t get my hard drive back until Monday, but they were able to copy and move all my files with nothing being lost. Another BIG WIN!
I have another really cool manifesting story that happened on Sunday of the same weekend, but I’ll save it for another time.
