Stop Settling for Less

Have you been settling for less than you need and desire in your life? Denying your desires and settling for less than you want may seem admirable on the surface, but it creates discord and discontent within you. Deep down you know that you should have everything you need and desire.
Why do we settle for less?
One of the number one reasons is fear. Fear of speaking up and speaking out and asking for what we need or want. Often, we are afraid of other’s reactions. We are afraid of making people angry if we ask for what we want. We are afraid to possible lose a relationship if we ask for more affection or more time with the other person. We are afraid of getting fired if we ask for a raise. Or, we are afraid to have them point out all the reasons why we shouldn’t get a raise. Fear is a big reason people settle for less.
Here are some other reasons people settle.
Settling becomes a habit and a way of life. During our childhoods, we are often denied by our parents and we just give up asking and give up on our dreams and desires.
We may have learned at an early age that a nice person let others get their needs met, so we just shut down and stop asking or going for what we want.
Perhaps, consciously or unconsciously, you would feel guilty getting everything you desire. Outshining others can be a big stopper for many people.
Possibly you don’t feel worthy and deserving of getting everything you need or want.
Maybe you have a limiting belief that it is not possible to have everything you desire.
Or, maybe you feel like your goals are out of our reach and you don’t see a way to obtain them, so you don’t even try.
When you settle for less you are only partially living. How sad is that? Everyone has the potential for greatness and life is way to short to settle.
How do you break the cycle of settling for less?
First, it is important to make a conscious intention and decision to do so. By recognizing the pattern and declaring to yourself that you are not willing to settle for less anymore is the first step to opening yourself to more.
Next, a willingness to make yourself a priority and risk losing a friendship, relationship or job, rather than setting, is also important. Asking for what you want can be risky.
Another important aspect in breaking the cycle is you must be absolutely congruent with what you desire to do and have in your life. What you desire might just be a should or a have to and not a true desire. “I should lose weight or I have to lose weight” rather than “I desire to lose weight for my own health and well-being.” Make sure what you want is a true desire.
And also, it is important to feel completely worthy and deserving of experiencing the best life has to offer. One of the best ways to break the cycle of setting for less and feel worthy and deserving is EFT Meridian Tapping of course.

Rate Your Level of Comfort
Before you begin the EFT sequences, rate how comfortable you feel releasing this pattern of settling for less, making yourself a priority and allowing yourself to be, do or have anything you need or desire.
Close your eyes and on a scale from 0 to 10 (0 is not feeling comfortable, and 10 is feeling very comfortable making yourself a priority), what number best represents your level of comfort? This is just a perceptive guess, so take the first number that comes up. Remember the number or write it down so you can refer to it after the tapping sequence.
EFT Sequence for Settling for Less
Begin tapping on the karate chop point and say out loud…
Even though for most (or all) of my life I have settled for less than I desire, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
Even though I have adopted a pattern of settling for less than I want, starting today I make myself and my desires a priority.
Even though in the past I have settled for less than I have desired, I am willing to release this pattern of settling for less today.
Even though getting all that I desire doesn’t feel comfortable for me and I may even feel guilty, I choose to release these uncomfortable feelings now.
Even though I have settled for less than I needed or wanted, I have decided today that I am no longer willing to settle for less.
Eyebrow: I have settled for less.
Outside eye: I have been settling for less.
Under eye: I have denied myself and settled for less than I need and want.
Under nose: I am no longer willing to do that.
Chin: I am no longer willing to settle for less than I need and desire.
Collarbone: I am ready to make myself a priority.
Under arm: I am ready to allow all that I desire into my life.
Top of head: I give myself permission to stop settling for less today.
Stop tapping. Take a deep breath in, and release it out.
Make note of any changes in your awareness, your thinking or in your physical body. Make note of any signs of release such as sighing, yawning, warmth, tingling or relaxation taking place. These are all good signs that energy is moving and shifting.
Repeat that tapping sequence a few times until you achieve the shift you desire and feel a stronger desire to make yourself a priority. Then continue with these affirmations and anchor in the shift that you have achieved.
Eyebrow: I am ready to make myself a priority.
Outside eye: I am eager to allow more joy into my life.
Under eye: I am excited to allow in more prosperity.
Under nose: I am thrilled to allow more success into my life.
Chin: I deserve to be happy.
Collarbone: I deserve to have all that I need and want.
Under arm: I am ready to allow in anything and everything that is important to me.
Top of head: It feels good to give myself permission to be, do or have anything I desire. And, I am ready to start setting for more!
Stop tapping. Take a deep breath in, and release it out.
Once again, make note of any changes in your awareness, your thinking or in your physical body. Make note of any signs of release such as sighing, yawning, warmth, tingling or relaxation taking place.
